The first step
AFF (Accelerated Freefall) Ground School is your first step to becoming a skydiver. A day of theory delivered on our premises that will provide all the information required for you to confidently take on your first level of AFF.
Topics covered include equipment, aircraft, freefall body position, parachute deployment, landing, and emergency procedures.
Ground School may feel a bit like information overload, but rest assured it is designed to show you the ropes and lay down important foundations. All information taught during Ground School is positively affirmed and reiterated during the practical training of the AFF Course.
Ground School is held on the first Saturday of each month, starting at 8.30am. It is a full day(7 - 8 hrs) that may also include a Level 1 TAFF skydive (weather and time dependent).

Price list
AFF ground school
The ground school is your first step to becoming a skydiver. It is a full day course which teaches you all the essentials needed to start jumping out of planes. Ground School is usually offered on the first Saturday of each month but can differ depending on events or instructor availability.

Private AFF ground school
This is the same as the AFF ground school but can be done outside of our scheduled course dates with a prior booking. If the scheduled monthly ground school does not suit you, get in touch to arrange a private course.

AFF level 1 orientation skydive (TAFF)
This level is done as a tandem jump which gives you the opportunity to put into practice your newly learned skydiving techniques but without as much pressure. It is also a very good way for you to get your bearings above the parachute landing area and fly the parachute with assistance.

AFF levels 2-3
These levels are done wearing your own parachute equipment and are done with two instructors holding on to your harness in freefall. This is where you start to find your neutral body position which gives you balance in freefall. There are skills within each level that must be successfully achieved to be able to move onto the next.

AFF levels 4-8
Continue your training but with just one instructor. You’ll learn some more advanced skills in freefall and under the parachute. Again these are skill based and need to be successful prior to moving to the next level. There are skills within each level that must be successfully achieved to be able to move onto the next.

AFF 9+ (solo student skydive)
Solo skydive for students that have successfully completed AFF. This includes all gear rental, parachute packing, and instructor supervision.

A Licence coaching jump
In these jumps you will be with a coach and learn skills that give you the ability to skydive successfully and safely with other skydivers. There are 6 coaching jump levels, you must successfully complete all the tasks in these levels to complete your A licence coaching.

Parachute packing course
In this course you will learn how to pack a main parachute. Being able to pack your own parachute gives you a more in depth understanding of your equipment. This course takes the best part of a day and is a great thing to do on a bad weather day.

Jump ticket (12,000ft AGL)
Solo skydive 12,000ft above ground level. Once you are licensed this is what you will pay for a skydive to 12,000ft.
This does not include Gear Rental.

Solo skydive 15,000ft above ground level. Once you are licensed this is what you will pay for a skydive to 15,000ft.
This does not include Gear Rental.
Purchase 10 jump tickets at once and get them for $45 per jump. These tickets are valid for either 12’000ft or 15’000ft jumps.

Don't have your own gear yet? You can rent equipment from us, we have everything you need. Gear rental includes the parachute packing.
Not jump current? We can get you current & jumping again. This refresher training covers ground refresh work. If a check jump is required you will need to pay a coaching jump also.
The following is the total minimum costs for each stage of training. These costs do not include repeat levels or any outside fees such as NZPIA memberships and Exams.

Full AFF course + first solo (Pay upfront)
This is the full course price if you pay for the entire course upfront.
This includes: AFF Ground School, 1x TAFF Level 1 (Tandem jump), 2x AFF levels 2-3 (2x Instructor AFF Jumps), 5x AFF Levels 4-8 (Single Instructor AFF Jumps), 1x AFF 9+ Solo Student Skydive.

Minimum full course fees to NZPIA A licence
This is the total minimum cost from starting out to achieving your NZPIA A Licence.
This includes the Ground School, all AFF levels, all coaching levels, solo skydives totaling 25 jumps and the parachute packing course.
